Error 106 When Trying to Update CIC
Hi, I’m trying to update my CIC to version C1A, but I keep encountering Error 106. Here’s what I’ve attempted so far:
- Imported SP data using the BMW coding tool (selected SP source -> Update SP data -> WINKFP update).
- Verified that the update file is located in the Ediabas\ecu folder – everything looks good there.
I’m trying to update using both ICOM Next and ICOM B, with connections via OBD and MOST ports. On the ICOM B, both the SYSTEM and MOST LEDs are green.
I used Easy Connect with the following settings:
- Type: REMOTE
- IP:The ICOM IP is shown in Itoolradar
- Mode: MOST_ASYNC
I selected the ICOM Next BMW lock and clicked check, but no errors were displayed during the process.
I’m unsure why this error keeps occurring. Thanks in advance for any help!
EDIT: I managed to resolve the error. It turned out that the ULF module wasn’t functioning correctly, which caused a false MOST ring break. After disconnecting it and bridging with the MOST loop, I was able to proceed with the update.
If anyone has better solutions, please email sales@obd2tool.com.
